GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. WANDERING FOOTSTEPS.. In "Wandering Footsteps,” which is to be screened to-night, the, young hero, played by Bryant Washburn, quickly - recognises temperamental kinship between himself and Alec B. Francis, who plays the part of the older man and at once adopts him as. his “father.” True, they both are drunk, and neither one remembers anything about it the next morning. To Hal Whitney the legal papers of the act of adoption, by which he has acquired a "father,” come, by mail a little later as a very great surprise. But he “makes good” as a dutiful and affectionate son, and the oldei 1 maij makes good as a father, spiritually, and after a while materially, by mairying the young man’s mother. SATURDAY NIGHT. THE NEW COMMANDMENT. ‘The New Commandment,” to be screened to-morrow night, affords the right kind of theme, and through it is interwoven a sweet theme of romance and devotion. Blanche Sweet, and Ben Lyon portray the leading roles, and both are responsible, for some memorable acting. None of the stirring and dramatic situations of the book are lost in the picture, which abounds in episodes dear te the hearts of every manner of patron. THE VERDICT. "The Verdict,” featuring Lou Tellegan and Louise Lorraine, which is also to be shown to-morrow night, is a story of love and sacrifice in the shadow of the electric chair. The picture is said to be one of the b(jst mystery plays ever screened, and contains an entirely new idea in camera story-telling. TURUA PICTURES. SATURDAY, JANUARY 15. Some years; ago the advice was given to young men to “Go West to fortune”. Tom Meighan in “The New Klondike,” showing at Turua on Saturday, absolutely disregarded this advice and went South —to Florida. He went to the baseball training camp at Miami, and then succeeded in getting mixed up in the Florida real esflNe boom. TUESDAY, JANUARY 18. •"The Son df the Sheik,” showing on Tuesday, is a sequel to "The Sheik,” written by the same author and starring Rudolph Valentino. The thrilling tale of Ahmed, son of the. devil-may-' care Englishman, who is the Sheik, takes one across the dreaming desert with powerful sweeps' of action and romance as the fast pace of the story unfolds the Son of the Sheik’s belief that he has been betrayed by the girl for whom he would give all.
