PAEROA RAINFALL.
WET YEAR RECORDED. HEAVY FALL IN DECEMBER. in common with the rest of the Dominion, Paeroa will remember the year 1926 on account df the number of wet days recorded. From figures supplied by the local office of the Public Works Department it is shown that the Paeroa rainlfall 'for 1926 exceeded that of 1925. A total of 62.84 inches of rain was registered, which is 20.22 inches in excess of 1925, but 5.30 inches less, than during 1924, when the highest, rainfall Tor five years was registered. During last month the. total rainfall registered was 4.ll'inches, an increase of 2.63 inches on the corresponding month in 1925. Rain fell oh twenty days during December, the heaviest fall being recorded on Boxing Day, when the amount was 1.34 inches. From Christmas Eve to NewYear’s. Evq 2.15 inches of rain fell. The thermometer reading averaged 61 degrees, the hottest, day being, on December 8, when the 65 degrees mark was reached. The prevailing wind on 15 days during the month was south-westerly.
