AWAITI DRAINAGE.
ITo the EditorJ Sir, —It is strange but time that in all communities, there are diverse natures, and when they clash the best or. worst that is in them is brought to light. The contumelious nature is worst of all, and is despised and ostracized by all other natures. It will stab and trample underfoot the most innocent, believing in its ignorance that two: wrongs will make a right, and gloat over the pain which it may inflict. Because of the part in which I have taken, in the above controversy an innocent person has been subjected to gross and cowardly insult. It is not my intention nor desire to 'be brawling on ,th<? public highway, but in a recurrence of this nature I will not hesitate to give the protection <jue to them by.law. te would not be inappropriate at thi& stage to quote Milton: “He >vho reigns within himself, and rules passions, desires, ‘ and fears, is more than a King.” ’ \ R. ADAM.
