LAST SATURDAY’S RESULTS.
The first round o’f the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association’s inter-club competition was completed on Saturday last in good wgather. Each team has now played five matches, and the points are as follows: Kopuarahi 11, Ngatea 8, Waitakaruru and Kaihere 4 each, and Turua and PipirOa 3 each.
At Ngatea on Saturday last the home team secured a two-point win from the Turua team by 112 runs to 96. For Turua Averill knocked up 27, Lindsay 18, Macklow 17, and Johnston 14, and for Ngatea Cornthwaite made 34, Carlton 30, Darlington 12 not out, and Boyne 11.
. Bowling tor. Ngatea. Chapman took 2 for 29, Phillips 4 for 34; and Boyne 2 for 24,'and 'for Turua Macklow took 4 for 19, Lindsay 1 tor 17, Madgwick 0 for 16, Tilly 1 for 8, and Hutchinson 1 for 4.
At Plpiroa the Kopuarahi eleven secured another two-point win by making 57 runs to 32 secured by the home team. McKay made 27 runs in the first Innings and 32 in the second innings, which was not completed.
In the Waitakaruru-Kaihere match the Waitakaruru eleven won by three runs in one innings.
