PAEROA DOMAIN.
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING. ROUTINE BUSINESS. The monthly meeting of the Paeroa Domain Board was held on Tuesday night, the chairman (Mr W. Marshall) presiding over Messrs E. Edwards, P. E. Brenan, F. E. Flatt, J. W. Silcock, H. J. Hare, J. Pinder, G. P. de Castro, E. A, Porritt, and the secretary (Mr W. C. Alexander). CRICKET GROUND. The Paeroa Crickqt Club wrote expressing thanks and appreciation for the free use of .the cricket ground at the domain and advising that the request for rolling the pitch had been deferred for the time being. Mr Hare said that the dub was not getting the ground rent free. The rent would be remitted only in the event of the. club laying on water to the pitch. The chairman agreed, and said he thought the club quite understood the position. GENERAL BUSINESS. Mr Silcock intimated that he had interviewed the officials "of the Croquet, Club and had Explained the Ward’s position relative to the fee charged 'for the lawn. The result of the interview was satisfactory. The question of keeping the grass short the trees and in the vicinity of the rotunda as at present was discussed. It was resolved to make inquiries relative to obtaining estimates. for .a suitable motor mower, as it was contended that the work could be more satisfactorily accomplished with a mower than by the present method of scything.'
