THAMES VALLEY BOARD. ■ ROUTINE BUSINESS. .The monthly meeting of the Thames: Valley Electric Power Board was held at To Aroha on Tuesday, the chairman (Mr F. M. Strange) presiding over the following: Messrs H. M. Corbett, F. E. Flatt, W. E. G. Willy, J. Pohlen, G. Howie, J. W. McCormick, J. Price, J. W. Anderson, J. B. Thomas, C. A. Arthur, and the; manager (Mr R. Sprague) and the chief engineer (Mr N. G. McLeod). LIVENING UP OF LINES.

The chief electrical engineer, Public Works Department, wrote dr.awing attention to the growing tendency of failing to notify the department and the Post and Telegraph Department of new lines being ready for inspection prior to being placed in service. It was 'resolved to advise, the department that whde it was not always possible’ to comply strictly with the regulations, they were carried out in spirit, and in no cases were the lines livened up without the departments concerned being duly advised.

GARAGE AT TURUA!. On the motion of Mr Willy it was resolved to inform the Turua Town Board that a letter, signed by the chairman, should be forwarded to the effect that on 14 days’ notice, being given the board would remove the garage. In seconding the motion Mr Flatt pointed out that at present the board’s garagQ was situated in front of the condenser on the main highway. MAUKORO POLE LINES. The N.Z. Dairy Co., Hamilton, Wrote, advising that Mr Cornes had abandoned his contract at Maukoro. The company hoped to make a new contract shortly, and anticipated coming to an understanding with regard to light for the cottages. In the meantime information-was sought as to the cost of fittings and current on a flat rate-basis per annum. The chairman explained that it had been suggested that the line should be pulled out. The matter was referred to the engineer, with power to act. EXTRA LIGHT SOUGHT. The Salvation Army, Waihi, applied for a light to be erected in Rosemont Street for the convenience of open-air services. An inquiry was: made as to the cost of same per annum. The secretary was instructed to , supply the information. TURUA STORAGE CHARGES. ■ The Thaimes.
