BABY SHOW.
MANY BONNY CHILDREN. LARGE ENTRIES RECEIVED, The baby show held each year by the Hauraki A. and P. Association is increasing ixi popularity, and the entries received fox* th© different classes yesterday constituted a record. Seating accommodation was provided, axid the show was held in the vicinity of the croquet club pavilion, where the picturesque surroundings made an ideal spot for the purpose. Away from th© bustle and noise of the show proper, it was obvious that the mothers enjoyed the, brief respite in the shaae,
The judge, Miss Potterton, sister in charge of the Thames Maternity Annexes had an arduous task in making the awards, in each class there were bonny children, hind in each instance there was. only a very small margin ■separating the. winners.
The following were the prize-win-
Baby under six months’ old: Mrs A. Vugl'ar, Paeroa, baby D’Arcy, firsit; Mrs Barton, Netherton, baby Morris, second ; Mrs, Bradford, baby Russell, third. Five entries. Baby, over 6 months and under 12 months : Mrs W. Alley’s Valerje, first; Mi’s W. ■ Lawrence’s Charlie, second; Mrs F. Patterson’s Unice, third. Eleven entries.
Bajby, over 12 months and under. 24 months: Mrs B. Fisher’s Mcllly, first; Mrs H. H. Harrison’s Joy, second ; Mrs Bradford’s Norris, third. Eight entries. It was rather unfortunate that a couple of entries had to be. refused on account of the mothers, not knowing the weight of the babies.
