The Turua Tennis. Club has decided not to entejr teams for. the Hauraki Plains Tepnis Association’s interclub competitions unless, the zone system of playing off is reverted to or the number of entries in the A grade competition is limited to six. The club has to defend the Williams Shield this season, and as it has, a

membership of over 50 lb is. feared that the courts will be occupied too much by the competition matches to be 'fair to the majority of players, who will not be included in any of the teams. By limiting the number of entries to six it is thought that a competition of more evenly matched teams will result, and this would have a tendency to improve the standard of play. It will also reduce the burden of travelling.
