There is as much difference betAveen raAv tobacco and toasted tobacco as there is betAveen a I'aAV potato and savory chips. It is not so much the material, you use as the Avay you adopt in preparing it. Take-, for instance, our locally manufactured tobaccos. They are all toasted, and as a result their latent properties have been brought fully out. Science applied, Avhat else is it but commonsense. You need not be an expert to understand the Avonderful effect of this toasting process ; flavour and aroma will tell you ; so smooth and mellow, but what is equally important, consider their merits from a health point of vieAV. The object of toasting is to eject any deleterious properties that may be contained in the leaf and to neutralise portion of the poisonous nicotine ; hence toasted tobaccos may be smoked with impunity ; they will not affect the heart and nerves or the eyesight. Obtainable in three grades: Riverhead Gold, mild a.nd aromatic; Navy Cut (Bulldog), medium ; and Cut Plug No. 10 1 (Bullshead), full strength.*
