PAEROA DEFEATS WAIHI. LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH. The Paeroa Ladies’ Hockey Club terminated its 1926 seasen at the local domain on Saturday afternoon, when it defeated the Waihi ladies’ senior team by three goals’ to one. There was quite a large crowd of spectators to witness the game, the success of the local team being all the more creditable in view of the fact that the visitors were the winners Of this season’s senior competition at Waihi. In the first half the scores were one al), goals being shot by Mis,ses M. Carter (Waihi) a ; nd C. Swann (Paeroa). In the second half the local team rallied and had the better of the game throughout the, spell, which ended with the addition of two more goals netted by the local captain, Miss V. Shand. Mr C. C. Stallard was referee.
