Mr Pinder asked that his vote, be recorded against the proposition 0 11 the ground that the board’s system of charging was inconsistent. EXTRA ACCOMMODATION SOUGHT. The Croquet Club also .applied to have the partition between the club room and the room formerly occupied by the tennis club removed. It was pio'nted out that the room was too small at the pavilion, and it would be a great conveniences if the wall could be removed. The chairman said that the club was apparently assuming that the room was unoccupied. On the motion of Mr Brenan the matter was referred to the Works Committee, with power to act. EXPERIMENTAL PLOTS. Mr L. W. McCaskill, of the Agricultural Department staff, forwarded a detailed report of the top-dressing trial carried out on Primrose Hill by the agricultural class at the Paeroa District High School. » The report wa®. received, and it was resolved to thank Mr McCaskill for his interesting report. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT. The superintendent’s quarterly report was submitted as follows : — “Since my last report my time has been mainly spent in the general maintenance work necessary at this -time of the year. I have done a good deal Of pruning to the hedges, and trees, but the bad weather lately has prevented me from completing them. “The preparing of the greens for the forthcoming season has also taken up a good deal of time, owing mainly to the large amount of growth caused by the heavy rains, and, moreover, to the cutting of a drain through the croquet green.

“Now that the summer season is, almost here I would suggest that a man bq employed to repair the seats in the domain. They are in a b.ad state of repair, and are likely to be needed soon.

“As it is not yet time to clear the gorse and blackberry, I would suggest that they not be loot sight of, but as soon as the season is suitable they be ploughed and drag-harrowed. A portion of .this work was done last year, but if it is not finished this .season a good deal more work will be entailed than is necessary. “The tennis courts will need a good deal of attention, the asphalt being cracked and also broken up in places as a result of the drays carting in connection with the new drain across, the croquet green.” Included in the report was a statement of the hours spent during the, last three months dn the domain, as follows : Bowling green, 130 ; croquet lawn, 31% ; 'general, 416%.
