NGATEA HIGH SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The Ngatea District High School Committee met oh Tuesday of last week, Mr W. McDuff presiding over Messrs G. T. Davidson, W. Lawrence, W. J. Clare, and E. Barriball( secretary). ATTENDANCE. The headmaster, Mr N. J. Crabbe, reported that the roll numbers were primary 155, secondary 17. The, attendance. for the month had averaged 129 in primary school and 13 in the secondary department. STATE OF TANKS. A member mentioned that a complaint had been made that th® school tanks were dirty. The chairman stated that the tanks w'ejre cleaned out at every holiday. NOTICE BOARDS. The matter of having notice hoards erected warning motorists to drive carefully past the school was brought up by the headmaster in hist report. It was decided to suggest to the Automobile Association that it erect danger signs, it beinsf agreed that motorists took more notice of the association’s- signs. FINANCE. The Education Board advised that the allowance for incidental expenses had been increased six per cent, ft'r the year 1926, -a,nd the arrears would be placed to the credit of the committee’s account. Accounts totalling £1 9s were passed for payment. ■
