SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL RUN. A GREAT CONVENIENCE SUPPLIED The new railway service between Frankton and Tham«b was inaugurated yesterday morning. The SentinelCammell steajn rail-car, carrying six passengers in addition tor the train crew, reached Paeroa from Frankton on schedule time. The trip Was with-, out incident, and passengers speak very highly of the comfort and convenience of the service.

His Worship the Mayor spoke well df the 1 innovation in an interview yesterday. “The department is to be congratulated,” he sajd, “on its enterprise and its evidenced determination to make the railway services keep pace with the requirements of this district. Paeroa grejatly appreciates the new service, and hopes sincerely that it will be a success, as it will be a great convenience and fill a long-, felt need. It may take a little time for the public to. realise the dbvious advantages, but I think it should prove, to be a wise undertaking if given a fair trial.” The president of the, Paeroa. Chambejr of Commerce (Mr P. Williams) also offered congratulations to the Railway Department on its enterprise, and expressed the hope that the service would be. well supported and maintained..
