STEAM RAIL CAR.
THAMES-FRANKTON SERVICE.
INAUGURATION ON MONDAY,
On Monday next the Railway Department will inaugurate a daily service; from Thames, to Frankton and b.ack, by means of a Sentinal-Cammell steam rail-car. The car is 56 feet in length, apd will accommodate 48 passengers on throw-over sfefits. of the tramway type, upholstered in green buff hide, and can be driven from either end. The weight is 18J4 tons, and provision is made for d'qad-man control. The'lighting is by electricity and curtains replace the regulation blinds, previously in use. Second-class accommodation only will be> provided. The time-table is a$ follows, commencing on Monday next: — Lefave Frankton 10.35 p.m. Arrive Paeroa 1.5 a.m. Arrive Thames 2.15 a.m. Leave Thames 3.30 a.m. Leave Paeroa 4.34 a.m. Arrive Frankton 6.49 a.m.
