HOCKEY.

LAST SATURDAY'S MATCH. PAEROA DRAWS WITH THAMES. On Saturday last the Paeroa ladles’ hockey team journeyed to Thames, whe,re an inter-club game was played at the racecourse. The game was very fast throughout, and the fact that it ended in a draw, one goal each, shows the' contest was a very even one. Towards the. close of the first half Miss F. Gordon netted a good goal for the home team. .On resuming after- half-time Pa.eroa carried into the circle on several occasions, and were unlucky in not registering several goals. As the result of a neatly executed movement the visiting backs carried dofcvn and sent in to Miss V. Shand, who delivered a stinging shot into the. net, equalising the scores.. Mr Danby was referee.
