SCARAMOUCHE.
“ Scaramouche ” is, the name given to one of the characters Of the old Commedia Delle Arts, players of Italy a.nd France—a sly buffoon, with a swift smile, a sharp tongue, the ability to, make trouble, and the ability to come out of it with a whole skin. In “ Scaramouche,” which is to be screened this afternoon and again this evening, the hero is a fascinating character, swordsman, wit, revolutionist, who joined a ba,nd of strolling players at a. time when his life is being sought, becomes the company’s “ Scaramouche.” Ramon Novarra enacts this character.
NETHERTON ODDFELLOWS BALL.
TOrMORROW NIGHT’S FUNCTION.
Complete arrangements have been made to ensure the success, of the grand ball which is being held under the auspices of the Loyal. Netherton Oddfellows, Lodge in the Netherton. Public Hall to-morrow night. A special orchestra has been engaged, and the floor is. recognised as being one of the best for dancing in the district. For the convenience of patrons free buses leave Paeroa and Kerepeehi for Neitherton, and those who contemplate attending the function are advised to book their s,eats early.
