ELECTIONS TO DIRECTORATE.
SUPPLIERS’ COMMITTEES MEET.
HAMILTON, August 24.
The election to the directorate ot representatives for the four wards, in the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Company’s district resulted in .the return of Messrs J. B. McKinney (Bombay), W. H. Allen (Tirau), T. C. Blackett (Te Kowhai), and G. Biichanan (Paeroa). Details of the voting were as follows : Northern District: J. B. McKinney, 34,023 votes ; J. Luke, 25,000 ; H. P. Garland, 20,103 ; G. T. Parvin, 14,124 ; J. Ballantyne, 11,202. South-eastern District: W. H. Allen, 41,725 votes.; Joseph Clark, 36,166 ; S. C. G. Lye, 16,128. South-western District: T. C. Blacket (re-elected unopposed). Thames Valley: G. Buchanan (re-' elected unopposed). A meeting of the suppliers’ committees of the company was held at: Hamilton to-day.
The Morrinsville committee recommended that the Paeroa office of the company should be closed. It was stated that this should enable the management to more ( speedily and economically handle the business. The ■management was asked to approach the Government to endeavour to get for the farmers, the same railway concessions for the month of June as were given to the summer holidaymakers in December.
Z A recommendation was carried to the effect that suppliers be invited to contribute 2s for every 10001 b of but-, ter-fat supplied for two years., with a view to reimbursing Messrs E. C. Banks, J. Barugh, and .the estate of the late Mr T. Paterson for the loss they had incurred in connection with the New Zealand Meat Packing Company.
