NEW ARRIVALS.
IMMIGRANTS FROM ENGLAND. THE CORINTHIC’S QUOTA. Among the passengers oh the White Star liner Corinthi'i which is expected to arrive at Auckland from Southampton on Tuesday next, are 474 in the third-class., 363 being assisted immigrants. Included in the assisted Immigrants are 27 domestic servants and 49 boys who are coming out ,to the Salvation ‘Army farm. In addition there is a party of 31 boys, the. sons, pf sailors of the Royal Navy aiid Merchant Marine who were, killed or disabled during the war, 8 being from Scotland, 12 'from Portsmouth, and the remainder from the northern counties. The lads, are beneficiaries under the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Acknowledgment of Debt to British Seamen Fund.
Another larges batch of 344 assisted immigrants, including' 18 public s.chool boys, will arrive at Wellington by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rimutaka on August 30.
