LONDON’S MEAT SUPPLY.
NEW ZEALAND’S CONTRIBUTION. LARGE INCREASE IN' PORK. The N.Z. Meat Producers,’ Board has bfe&n advised by its London manager that the supply of meat to the Landon markets during the six months ended June 30, .1926, aggregated 240,892 tons, as against 229,30'6 tons for the corresponding period in 1925. Beef and veal accounted for 133,063 tons, of which 86.7 per cent, was imported. Argentine led with 91,653 tons, or 68.9 per cent. New Zealand ga,ined seventh place in pCjint of Quantity, supplying 836 tons or 0.6 per cent. In the importation of mutton and lamb, Of the 70,358 tons New Zealand headed the countries with 35,307 tons, or 50.2 per cent, of the total. The Netherlands was the'lowest contributing country, with 1641 tons or 2.3 per cent. No less than 23,112 tons Qfl pork were imported, Netherlands contributing 14,612 tons, or 63.2 per cent, of the total. New Zealand sent forward 33 tons, of pork, which is an increase cif 26 tons on last year’s figures.
