TURUA CRICKET CLUB. Turua will probably be represented in Hauraki Plains cricket circles this summer. A meeting to discuss the question of forming a, club was held on Friday evening, and the decision arrived at was to appoint a committee to go into ways and means and report to .a later meeting when the club would be formed .and officers appointed- The committee comprised Messrs, F. Bell, N, Green, A, H. Sutton, Meth ven, E. Johnston, and R. D, Macklow, secretary. There are many old cricketers in Turua., and several matches have been played in past seasons. Several Turua players joined up with other clubs last year. NGATEA. FOOTBALL ACCIDENT. During the Ngatea v. Turua football match on Saturday E. French, of the Turua. team, received a kick on the head. First-,aid was rendered and the player returned to the' field. Five minutes later he collapsed. Dr. Lange, of Turua, was present, and attended French, who was conveyed to Mrs Costello’s residence, and alter to the Thames. Hospital suffering from’concussion. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. The final euchre tournament conducted by the Ngatea Tennis Club was held on Saturday night, the prizes being rvon by Mr Gribble with 44 games and Mrs Reid with 4'5 games. The evening prizes went to Mr Gribble and Mrs Vowles, the booby prizes being won by Mi’ R. Phillips l and Mrs Wheeler.
