PAEROA HOSPITAL.
PROMISES TO BE HONOURED.
MENTION IN THE HOUS®.
In the House of Representatives early on Thursday molding last Mr A. M. Samuel asked the Minister of Health if he. intended to honour a promise made by his predecessor ih office that a f maternity hospital and annexe would be provided at Paeroa. This, he said, was a matter which his constituents had frequently asked him to urge upon the Minister, and it seemed to be only a fair thing that the Minister should give some definite statement as- ,to what was proposed.
“All promises made will be kept,” said Mr Young. Mr Rhodes objected to the establishment of such an institution on the grounds that there was, already a “white elephant” at Thames in the shape of an annexe. _ Mr Samuel said he was. sorry to see his colleague adopt this attitude. The, Minister advised Mr Samuel to take the matter up.
