FRACAS AT WAIKINO.
HOTEL PROPRIETOR ASSAULTED.
TWO YOUNG MEN ARRESTED.
About midnight on Saturday the proprietor of the Waikina Hotel, Mr W. J. Seiwood, v<as subjected to a brutal attack at the hands of some young men.
As a, result of the disturbance John Southberg and Eric B. Cox, residents of Waikino, appeared before; Messrs W. E, Busch and J. Murray, J’s,P„ at the Waihi Police Court this, morning to answer a charge of assault, rfleas of guilty were entered. On the application of Senior-Ser-geant Mac Lean a remand was granted till Wednesday.
It is understood that other charges are pending, and that a third offender has yet to be arrested.
