DOMAIN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. 1 ROUTINE BUSINESS. Following the monthly meeting of the Borough Council .a short meeting of the Paeroa Domain Board was held, the chairman (Mr W. Marshall) presiding. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT. The superintendent (Mt W. Hamilton) reported that maintenance work was being carried out. A return was tabled showing that 'froim July, 1925, to June 30, 1926, general wOrk had occupied 1414% hours, bowling green 513%‘ hours, croquet lawn 237 hours, and tennis courts 24 hours, a total working time for the year of 2189 hours. A request was made to purchase a quantity of seed, lime 1 , and manure. The report was adopted, and authority was granted to purchase the requirements. ' returns asked for. The secretary, Paeroa, Bowling Club, asked for a statement of accounts in connection with the bowling green, to enable, the information to be supplied to the club’s annual meeting.—Agreed to. MAIN DRAIN BLOCK. The chairman reported that the main drain through the croquet lawn leading to the outfall drain had become blocked through a growth ctf willow roots in the pipes’ which in some instances had moved them out of alignment. As a consequence it had been necessary to take up the drain across the. croquet lawn for the necessary distance to clear the pipes of the roots. The renewal of a Slumber of pipes wag also necessary. The large willow tree which grew .in the corner of the croquet lawn was the cause of the trouble and it hacT been necessary to destroy it. In answer to Mr Pinder the chairman said that the job had to be tackled at once, as the storm water drains in the Arney Street a,rea were not 'functioning.
