THE PLAINS ART UNION.
A. AND P. SOCIETY’S EFFORT.
PRICE OF TICKETS REDUCED.
The Hauraki Plains A. and P. Association has decided to reduce the price of its art union tickets to one shilling each or twenty-four for £l, and this change has been sanctioned by the Minister of Internal Affairs, and will come into force Immediately. New books df tickets are now being printed and tickets will be posted as soon as possible to all those who have purchased tickets a,t the old price of 2s each or 12 for £l. Thus, all those who previously had one book or one ticket will now have twice as many tickets. The change has been forced oil the association’s art union executive through the impression given it when the permit was obtained that there would only be two more art unions, and that the price of their tickets would be 2s or 2s 6d. There are now four or five art unions in progress with £5OO prizes for Is tickets, and the reduction in price df .the association’s tickets has been necessary to compete.
The people of the Hauraki Plains have supported the art union satisfactorily, but their support alone is not sufficient to achieve the object aimed’at, 'a,nd elsewhere, the sale of the 2s tickets has been dull. It is anticipated that the change will ensure the project being a much greater success. The new tickets will be on sale next week.
