NETHERTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

Sir, —Some short time ago there appeared in your columns an open lettier in regard to the. Netherton School Committee. The writer wag. rather scathing in his remarks at the time, but present events have proved him justified in all he said, <ind more. The present conduct of the committee is nothing short of disgraceful. Citizens, have any of you ever heard df a school committee that contained sane men allowing the children a holiday on account of a coihmoner’s wedding ? Such w'a,s the case at Netherton. The parties are hot active, or mildly interested, in school, wejfare. Cali any sane reason be given

, for allowing the holiday ? Recently a pupil of the school passed away . did the then committee give a holiday? and that would have been 'only respectful condolence. Do any df the public reasonably think the present members fit for school welfare when they abuse their rights as they have done, or can any well-balanced member stop on such a ; body? Wake; up, Netherton. Don’t leave your school in such hands longer than possible. WAKEFULNESS.
