PAEROA SEASON OPENS. RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S GAMES. The. folmaj opening for th© 1926 season of the Paerca Basketball Association took place at .the High S'chpol grounds on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a fair number of spectators. In declaring the season open the patron (Mr C. H. Pascoe) explained that this year the association had divided the players* isito senior and junior grades. As a result it was l am ticiphted that there would be a large increase. in the number .of players, there would be more competition, and it would be on a more equitable basis. Further, it would mean that each club would haye more than one' team playing each Saturday, anti the friendly rivalry and !compe.titive spirit would be increased. The Pheroa Sshool Committee’s shield had Jjeen allotted to the senior grade, amd it was the intention pf the associavtiwi to procure a silver cup Tor the junior grade for annual competition. ?The patron wished the association an enjoyable and happy reason, amidst applause he threw the first b.aU across and declared .the season opeiqThe results of the games were.
