ST. JOHN’S AMBULANCE.

FORMATION OF PAEROA BRANCH. ; COMMITTEE APPOINTED. - t A meeting of citizens was held .at the Druids’ Hall, Paeroa, on Monday evening to. consider the prospects of ■forming a branch of the St. John’s Ambulance Division. In the unavoidable absence, cf the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) .the deputy-Mayor (Mr E. Edwards) presided.

■Owing to the W.et night, and also, to counter-attractions, the attendance was not large. However, those who were present showed enthusiasm, and it was unanimously decided to form a branch at Paeroa.

The 'following provisional committee was elected: Messrs Walter Smith, W. Barclay, Crunch, Hardman, a,nd T. D. Davies, the latter being elected secretary pro. tern.

Owing to the small attendance it was decided to defer the arranging of details in connection with the new branch and other business until a furuther meeting could be held. The committee, in the meantime, would canvass for further members.
