PA EROA SEA SON CLO SES. results; of Saturday’s l games. official closing for the 1925-26 season was held on the local, green on Saturday - afternoon. ■ The weather • was fine and sunshiny, and considering the lateness, of the season .the greens were in particularly good,pl.ay■'v- ing condition. Til addition to a large - number 1 of club members, .visitors were present from the 'Hikutaia, and Walin clubs. . ; ; After appropriately welcoming the visitors the president (Mr E. Edwards) explained tha.t a drawing-. a driving competition had been ar--1 ranged, for which he was providing a prize for the winner of each, and he invited those present to take partThe competitions proved very iri--1 teresting, and were good tests,’ of skill, and judgment. The winner of the drawing competition proved to be JA. Wilkinson, with 8 points, while F. /•ftlarsh, with 6 points, annexed the trophy for driving. z CLUB PAIRS. The final of the club pairs competition was fought out between W. ’ Chamberlain and W. J. Towers (skip), and W. R- .Wilson and T. L. Williams 1 (skip); the former team winning by two pointe. The contest was keenly fought, and attracted considerable attention. On completion of the 21st bead the scores were equal, a.iulto /arrive at a decision it was necessary jRe play a further three heads, the * final scores being. Chamberlain and Towers 25, Wilson and. Williams 23. || _ . PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS. At the conclusion of the games the president declared ,the .green officially '■loosed for the season, and in doing so he thanked all the membens;’ and especially the committee, for the loyal support and co-operation accorded him during the season. He said that if the same support and enthusiasm was given the incoming president next year it was safe to predict that the 1926-27 season would be even more successful and enjoyable than the one. just brought to a close.
