COUNTY POPULATION.

LATEST CENSES RETURNS. SMALL DECREASE SHOWN. As, a result of the recent census the following figures for Qhinemuri County have been supplied by the local enumerator (Mr W. E. Ward), with the. previous census figures in 1921 given in parenthesis :— Males, 1427 (1438) ; females, 1147 (1205). Total Europeans, 2574 (2643). In the county there are 173 male and 197 female Maoris, which makes a. population of 2944 persons)-In' the county.
