The principal attraction wasjhe senior game West v. Suburbs. The efficacy of keeping ' the same players in the team was. evidenced on Saturday when, the West fifteen played their third-match without a,ny 1 alteration to the personnel. Although this team hais- yet muvh to learn before it reaches a high standard of Rugby, there, were occasions when combination was attempted, and the ' players are beginning, to become iliar with each other’s ta-ci ics. Undoubtedly it has a great forward line. Without making excuses for its defeat, it is only fair to state that the. Suburbs team was unfortunate inthat four o<f its best players were absent on .Saturday, a,nd the vacancies, were ’filled with such men as were available. Although.' defeated -19 to nil the visitors played a good game, and the scores do not 'fairly repre- , sent the merits of the players. The nippiness and combination of the schoolboys, were fay too superior for the West fifteen, ,the school winning by 28 points to nil. Tries were islcored by G. Gamble, ML Irwin (2), P. Holes, Ma,rshall, E. Piercy, and - P. . A. Flatt and P. Poland converted a try each, and the. latter kicked a penalty goal. ■ .Mr F. Byrrie was referee. •' X- .. PRIMARY SCHOOL. The Paeroa A teem journeyed to Hikutaia on Saturday morning and played a, match against that school, the scores being Paeroa 11, Hikutaia 9., For Paeroa Pivott scored three tries, one of which was concerted by Tukukino. For Hikutaia Welch registered two tries and Bennett It-'.. The Netherton boys, travelled to Karangajiake and defeated the home team by 18 to O'. K. Wilson 5 tries and N. Wilson 1 were the scores for Netherton.
