COUNTIES REPRESISNTATIVES. .■ ' ELECTION UNNECESSARY An election for representatives of the counties of .HauFaki Plains, Ohinemuri, and Thames on the Thames' Harbour . Board - will, not be -necessary this year, as: only two nomina.tioiiis' have'been'received for the two 'seats. These are ; Mlessrs S. J. Laughlin and James, McCormick, and •they liave been declared elected. Previously the combined counties .were' .represented by Messrs ~ Sc JLaughlin, of Netherton, awd -D. G-. McMillan, of .Turua. It was expected that ah election would have been necessary, as- both these gientlemen and Mr McCormick would hiave been nominated, but by a- mishap the, nomination paper for Mr McMillan wag; delayed and the messenger did not deliver it until an hour after nominations had closed.' Mr McCormick, the new member, is a settler of Matatoki, iinitl' had taken an interest in local body matters for seme years. 'He is’ a mem-' her of the.
