PAEROA RUGBY UNION; WEEKLY MEETING. A meeting of the management committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union was, held on Monday night, the chairman (Mr W. P. Pennell) presiding. CLUB COLOURS. It was resolved that referees be requested to insist on players wearing the colours of the club' which tney were, representing in al.l matches, offenders to be ,fined as provided in rule 27. STARTING TIME. It was, resolved that, the time of starting matches during .the season would be, .third-grade, 1.45 p.m., juniors, 2.30 p.m., and seniors, 3 p.m. THIRD-GRADE TEAMS. Owing to the fact that there were only two third-grade, teams, MessrsJ. H. Walmsley and E. Shaw were appointed to go into the matter, and endeavour to arrange a combined team from .the East, Netherton, Suburbs, and Karangahake clubs. FIXTURES. It w,as resolved that .the final •matches in all grades would be played at Paeroa. Owing to tihe opening day of .the shooting season falling on a. Saturday, Mr Rackhpjm moved that all fixtures be suspended on May 1. An Amendment to the effect that the competitions be carried on was carried. SELECTORS. Mr W. White advised .that he was unable, to carry out, the duties of selector for the senior representatives; but he would be willing to help when time permitted. Mr V. Young was appointed in place of Mr White, and Mr T. M. Wilkinson was appointed junior representative selector. REGISTRATIONS. The registration of players was approved as follows : — Netherton : Seniors, M. . Fitzroy ; juniors, R. Smith, C. Capper, N. Strange. East: Seniors, H. Powell, J. Fox, W. Hume, F. Bullock ; juniors, A. McKenna, F. Clayton, ,S. Sampson, J. Goonan. West: Juniors., H. Sanssey, T. Radford. PROTEST. A protest was lodged’by .the Netherton club on the grounds that on Saturday last the Suburbs club played a senior man (J. Smith) in the junior match a,gainst Netherton. It. was, stated that the captain of the. Netherton team pointed out to the captain of the Suburbs team before the; match that Smith had played p-enior football last season and had not been regraded. The Suburbs captain admitted that the fact were correct, but he allowed Smith to play. It was decided to. uphold the protest and award the match to Netherton, REGRADING PLAYERS. The Netherton cl : ub wrote asking that two players who had been registered as senior players be regraded to junior, so that the. club could put a complete junior team in the fieldMr Crosby ts:aid .that the grading of players was a, problem, but, he thought the union should stand firm and not encourage clubs- to ask for the regrading of players. A lengthy discussion followed, wnen it was moved by Mr Rackham, seconded by Mr Shaw, that al.l registered players remain as classified until the completion of the .first round. Mr Walmsley moved as an amendment that the matter of regrading registered players be deterred until the next meeting. The amendment was- carried by seven to .two. DELEGATES. Messrs C. H. Potter and B. Johnson were appointed delegates, for-the Netherton club. ADMISSION CHARGES. It was resolved that the charges for admission to all club fixtures be Its; ladies free. To" 'representative matches the charges .to be I®, ladies 6d. REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING AT PAEROA. The , annual meeting of the Paeroa Referees’ Association was held last week, the chairman (Mr H. il/Shand) presiding. Messrs T. C. Arnold (Paeroa) and E. G. Sale (Karangahake) were elected members, and were, formally welcomed. by the chairman. FOOTBALL COLOURS. It was resolved that after Saturday, April 19, no. senior or junior player would be allowed tioi play in a fixture under the jurisdiction of the Paeroa Rugby Union unless wearing the registered colours of the club which he was representing. TIME OF STARTING. It was decided to support the union in the matter of all, matches commencing within 15 minutes of the schedule time of starting. Teams; not, taking the field within that time would forfeit the match. OFFICERS. The following offiicers were elected: Chairman, Mr H. M. Shand; secretary, Mr R. B. Penlington ; sole selector, Mr H. M. Shand; delegate .to the Paeroa Rugby Union, Mr T. C. Arnold; delegates to the Thames Valley Union, Messrs Shand and Arnold; executive committee, the whole of .the association, with a sub-committee from the Paeroa union. I
