THE Hauraki Plains Gazette With which is incorporated THE HAURAKI PLAINS GAZETTE. Motto Public Service. MONDAY. WEDNESDAY. & FRIDAY. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 1926. PAEROA’S PROGRESS.

, That Paeroa is , developing and growing is now almost dajly exemplified, and even the most pessimistic person admits that the town "is moving ahead. For many years, although 'recognised as a “solid” town, Paeroa has. not shown any, great: outward sign of progressing, but it has often been predicted that to time it will become a busy inland town. With the development of the district, and the consequent yearly increase in dairying, the effect must manifest itself on the town. Centrally situated, Paeroa must always be the hub of what is recognised ais one o'f the best dairying districts in the Dominion. The number of buildings, both public and "private, erected during the past two years all make for development, It is also not .reasonable, to suppose tha,t the Government would spend many thousands of pounds isrerling on buildings, if there were, no prospective value. At the last meeting of the. Borough Council no less than three inquiries from different pa.rts of New Zealand were received from persons who Ijad heard ctf the town and were seeking further information with a view to opening up business here. Strange as it may seem, Paeroa has, a good na,me, outside, and many are the inquiries that one is frequently called upon to answer when travelling. Two of the largest oil companies operating in New Zealand have selected Paeroa. as the. centre for the distribution of their products, which agajn goes to show that the; possibilities: of the town are many. With the Advent eft the PaeToaPokeno railway and the East Coatis line Paeroa must, necessarily become a busy junction, and as time goes on much development can be expected in the town. With good roads and increased population the town must go ahead, ajid, it behoves every resident, now that a* forward movement has s,et hi, to get behind, it and puish for all they are worth. Talk about the town when- away from it, and never miss an opportunity to speak well of it.
