DISTRICT NEWS.
NETHERTON. TENNIS COMPETITION. The finals of the Netherton Tennis Club’s competitions were played during fast week. The challenge cup presented by the Waikato Valley Daily Co. was won by J. Maloney/who defeated F. T. V. Johnson. The ladies’ handicap competition .for a goldmounted ■umbrella presented by Mr B. Dunlop, of Paeroa, was won by Miss, N. I. McLeod, with Miss I. Coldicutt as runner-up. The racquet presented by Mr H. tyl. Shand for the school competition Was won by K. Wilson, while his sister, Miss N. Wil.- \ son, won the schoolgirls’ competition, ,the prize for which was donated by Mr H. J. Haire. KEREPEEHI. BUILDING PROGRESS. Very rapid progress is being made with the erection of ,the hotel building in Kerepeehi. The walls, of the lower storey and the floor of the upper storey are nearing completion. - About twenty men are employed. A start is .to be made to-day with the erection of a bakehouse, baker’s shop, agid tearooms.
