The Hauraki Plains Cricket Asso- | ciation ; met at Ngatea on Saturday evening, Mr J. G. ; Miller presiding over Messrs. H. Daye, T. M>ckay, H. L. Berney; G. Boyd, and F. D. Wallis, . hon. secretary., / Iri reply to the associations request for matches, letters were received from the Waihi and Pukekohe t c iubs. .advising* that owing to, -the inter-club competitions being in hand was impossible to grant a date, unless a Sunday wap acceptable. Mr Berney moved tljat a match be played against Pukekohe at New Brighton on some future Sunday. Seconded by Mr Dare. As an amendment Mr- Miller moved that the match be played on any day except Sunday. Seconded by Mr Mackay. { The amendment was only supported by the mover and the seconder, and the motion was carried. In regard to a return match at Thames Mr Miller reported that he had been advised, that March 27 was available. / The secretary was instructed to arrange, a. match if possible. In the inter-club competition there was the. possibility of> the. Kaiheiea,nd Kopuarahi .teamsr securing the same number of points. This would if .the Kaihere team secured two two-point wins, or .two wins by default from the Waitakaruru team. Owing to the falling off in enthusiasm among members c£, the Waitakaiuru club there was a big ch a,nee of Kaihere winning the cup if the matches were played. The Kaihere delegates therefore suggested that a two-inningp match be played between Kaihere and Kopuarahi to decide the winner of the cup. One inningsi would be played at each place, the dates to be mutually arranged. The offer was characterised as a sporting one, and it was decided that in the event of a draw the arrangement would sta,nd. • The meeting closed with a vote of thanks .to Mr Gribble for the use dfi his room'as a meeting pla!ee.
