VISIT OF GRAND VICE-PRESIDENT.
The Star of Paeroa- Lodge, No, 18, U.A.0.D.,1 ’ fittingly celebrated th# -thirtieth anniversary Of. its foundation on - Monday Last. The occasion was graced by the presence of Bro. T,. Wilson, G.V.P. Past officers,' officers and members of Dominion (Thames)), Victoria (Waikino), and Pride of Waihi lodges attended in large numbers. Bro. J ihn Darbyshire presided and cordially welcomed the visitors. Ct)arter members Bros. J. H. Moore (now of Auckland) and W. Neil, were also present. -Bro. W. Turner was installed District President by P.D.P. Bro.. Shaw, who in turn was presented by the G.V.P. with a P.D.P. collar and diploma, The address to tlie Lodge by the G.V.P. was informa,tive and candid. Congratulations to the new D.P., who is also the secretary of Star of Paeroa Lodge, were cordially bestowed by P.D'.P. Bro. Shaw. . -- ,
The Lodge being closed in due form, the brothers adjourned to the refectory. Harmony and goodfellowship prevailed without stint ■ for a n hour or two. The time-honoured toasts were duly proposed and accepted, and between whiles vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary items were rendered by brothers and guests. The whole gathering reflected the'.presentday virility ofc Druidism-in this bommunity. I ■ . . , -
