.A burglary was perpetrated at the confectionery shop' of Miss L. Marshall’s, Belmont Road,' on Monday, night. A few shillings, were* stolen, .but so far-as can be ascertained the stock was. not interfered with.

Galvin ;it Is per yard for the unloading of scows at various wharves on the Piafto, Riyer, and the tender of Watson and Swindell’s at 3s 6d per yard for casting 1760 yards of red metal. frqm Netherton and Paeroa wharves] to Wilson’s Road were accepted by the Hauraki Plains County Council yesterday.

As Mr C. H. Potter’s motor lorry,, carrying cream cans, was proceeding along the Turua-Netherton road yesterday afternoon an unusual accident happened. It- appears that the young son of Mr Gordon Fisher, Netherton, was riding his pony along the side ot the road, and when abreast of the lorry the animal shied badly and jumped on to the bonnet of, the vehicle. The lad was thrown off, butwas' uninjured. The driver of the lorry received cuts from falling glass from the broken -windscreen. The forepart ofc the lorry was considerably damaged by the animal, struggling to extricate itself., It is understood that the pony was- not badly injured.
