BBOWN—OWENS.

A night' wadding, the first to be celebrated ,in St. John’s Church, Waihi, took place on Monday, March 1,/when Mr George W. Brown, only son of Mr and Mrs J. T. Brown, of Paeroa, was united in matrimony to Miss. Mona. Owenfe, elder ‘daughter...of Mr and Mrs ; T. j. Owens, of'“Glen-, afton,” Waihi Plains. The officiating was the Rev. Gi R. Barnett, and the-popularity of the'event was manifested by the very large, attendance at the church. : 1 The'bride, who was given; away by her father, looked charming in an ivory satin dress, lyitji silk lace and pearl trimmings, the veil, being of em-' broidered ,tulle, fastened, with a crystal bandeau and. orange blossoms.' She '‘carried • a shower' bouquet oft mauve and white flowers.' The were Miss Pearl Owens (sipter-of the, bride), Miss Myra Brown (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Flo. Owens, of Wellington (cousin of the bride), all of wjiom wore daihty frocks apricot crepe-de-chine, with silk lace and pearl trimmings surmounted by tulle veils. Little -Miss Joyce Burt wais train-bearer,- and was dressed in pale- green crepe-de.-chine, • Mr .. Roy Wells, of Paeroa, acted as best .man, and Mr V. .Garri'ck, of, Paeroa, ..was. groomsman. The bridegroom’sgift to the. bride was a beautiful, pendant, and to each of the bridesmaids a gold brooch set with stories.'

Later the happy couple left by motbr for the Waikato and Botorua on their honeymoon. , The bride’s ' dress was "a powder blue marocain, with cream’ silk morqcain hat, ♦ Mr and Mrs' Brown were the recipients of many valuable presents.'
