It is a picture of Broadway night life with all its glamour ajid all its grief, written by Garrett-Fort specially for Miss Lee, who makes the most of the many opportunities thpt. the story affords her. LEARNING TO LOVE.
Constajnce Talmadge has five leading meh in her new comedy, “Learning to Love,” which is to be shown tomorrow night. Leading man number one is. Antonio Moreno. Moreno, the fifth of Constance’s screen sweethearts, varies the programme by refusing to make love of any nature to her. When she forcep him into marriage by tricleery he even refuses to live with her. Whereupon she goes to Paris for a divorce. In “Learning to Love” Constance shows modern girls- the various ways to capture a husband.
ATHLETIC CLUB'S CONCERT.
TUESDAY NEXT—MARCH 9TH.
Rarely, except in large centres, have the music-loving public a chance . to patronise a performance rendered
wholly by talented artists. On Tuesday next, in the Gaiety Theatre, the public of Paeroa and district will have in the grand concert promoted by the Paeroa Athletic Club an opportunity to enjoy a combination of vocal, instrumental, elocutionary, and clbssi- : cal dancing artists'. Mr Herbert Beech, of Thames, a wonderfully versatile humorous sjnger, .will leave his' audience with the .latest “hits.” Following consistent practice, the Symphony Jazz Orchestra will make its debut for the 1926 season, and the ' popular selections of thisj clever combination of instrumentalists are being , keenly looked for. The Waikino Concert Party, arranged by Mrs J. W. Jones, ■ has, by its fine performances in Waihi and elsewhere, won a coveted musical name throughout the district. For the convenience of the public the box plan has been opened at Flatt’s, and. already there are a number of bookings. Public support will mean the materialisation of. the Paeroa Athletic Club’s objective, a local athletic sports meeting. The licensing election results, will be announced in the theatre, by arrangement • made with the “Gazette” ’ _ Office.
