BUSINESS SITES CHANGE HANDS.
FLEMING AND SON’S PURCHASE. ' A large deal, so far as the borough of Paeroa is concerned; was completed towards the end of last week.
Messrs, W. Fleming and Son, the well-known machinery merchants and taxi proprietors, have purchased, the block of land comprising th/site.of their present premises and sections in Wharf Street from Mr J. Kennedy.
■ The area in question has, a front-, age of 51ft to Princes Street with-a depth of 70ft, and the other section, -rm which the old boardinghouse'.stopd, has a frontage of 41ft'3in to Wharf Street with a. depth of 100 ft, and.joins the other section.
In conversation with Mr W.- Fleming, principal of the firm, yesterday, it was learned that it is (he intention to erect a‘concrete garage, 80 ft by 41ft 3in on the site of the old boardinghouse. This, building, in addition to providing excellent accommodation for motor-cai'B', will be replete with every modern convenience. ■ The Princes - Street frontage will contain the offices and showrooms. .It is also intended to erect a'kerbside pump in front of the premises.
This property, which' ig| centrally situated opposite, the new post office, will make an-ideal, site for-the purpose for which it has been acquired, and the" firm ip deserving of congratulation on its enterprise and tangible evidence of the faith in. the ■future progress and development of Paeroa.
