DAIRYING RETURNS.

FIGURES FOR THAMES VALLEY.

SLIGHT INCREASE SHOWN. ■,

The secretary of the Paeroa office of the N.Z. Co-operative' Dairy Co., Ltd. (Mr.'W. H. Blakeway), advises that the . gross payment distributed from the Paeroa office on the 19th inst. for January butter-fat totalled £78,054, or £13,933 more than the payment made for the corresponding month last year. The advance prices were : Butter-making, Is 3d ; cheesemaking, Is 5d ; for superfine grade. It is. pleasing to learn that the. Thames. Valley, Hauraki Plains, and Waihi districts continue to show an increase in the quantity of butter-fat supplied, although the Dominion figures as a whole ,anow an decrease.

The total butter-fat received during January, 1926, at .the three butter factories and five cheese factories .attached to the Paeroa. office was 1,233,2861 b, which gives, an increase of ap-> proximately 1% per cent, over last year's figures and brings the increase oyer the whole season’s returns to the end of January, 1926, up to iseven per cent. The quantity of butter manufactured at the three butter fac-. tories during the 587 tons. The price of both butter and cheese on the Home market continues, to hold firm at 176 s and 100 s, respectively. Buyers are still holding off in connection with 'the butter market.
