CROQUET.
SATURDAY’S INTER-CLUB GAME.
TE AROHA DEFEATS PAEROA.
The Paeroa Croquet’ Club members played their first inter-club match on the local green on Saturday, when eight members of the Te Aroha club paid a visit.
The game locally has not received very much' support so far this season, which has been due to so many of the members being absent from tpwn on holidays'. The beating received at the hands, of the visitors, on Saturday will no doubt tend to give a fresh impetus to the game, as the members intend ,to practice assiduously in view of several inter-club matches’ that are pending. The match, which was, commenced before lunch, was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and the local, players are looking, forward .With keen anticipation to. the return-game, to be played later on in the season.
