The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports:— B ee f.—The markets continue firm for both prime ox and cow beef, prime ox making 31s to 33<s per 1001 b and prime cow 25s to 275. Fat Sheep. —Good yardings are coming forward, with prices a little above exporters’ rates in the markets-. Store Sheep—There has been a good inquiry for all classes of stores, sheep fairs having been held during the week at Coromandel, Tapir, Hamilton, Rangiriri, Oparau, and Waingaro, with a total clearance at each of these fairs, although prices are hot quite equal to la,st year’s; Store Cattle. —Small yardings have been coming forward, but a good demand exists for grown steers,, store cows, young steers, and good weaner steer calves ; also & fair inquiry for Weaner Jersey heifers.
Pigs.—There is a keen demand tor baconers and porkers, ba t con companies giving 6 %d, with prices' a little better in the Stores are a little easier.
Horses. —Heavy draughts and useful farm sorts are in demand, but aged and light horses are dull of sale. We quote':—
Bullocks, prime hea,vy £ll 10s to £l2, medium £lO to £lo' 10s; cows, prime £6 10s to £7 15s, medium £5 10b to £6, unfinished £3 10s to £4, stores £2 10s to £3 10s ; steers, forward 3%-year £7 15s to £8 'ss, store £6 15s .to £7 ss, good 2%year £4 10s to £5 10s, others £2 10s to £2 15s, good 18-months, £3 10s tb £4 5s ; good steer calves £2 to £2 10s, good Jersey heifer calves 35s to £3. Sheep : Wethers, prime heavy 29s to 31s, prime medium 27s to 28s 6d; ewes*, prime heavy 30S to 335, prime light 26s to 28s; store wethers, 4tooth, 26s 6d to 27s 6d, 2-,tooth 23s to 24s 6d; breeding ewesj 4, and 6-tboth 28s to 30s, 2-tooth 27s ,to 295, 4' and 5-year 24s to 265, sound mouth 18s 6d to 22s ; iambs, fat 24s to 26s ; shorn store lambs 12s to ISs; rape lambs 15s 6d to. 17s; cull lambs. 9s 6d to 10s 6d. Pigs : Prime baconers £4 to £4 'ss, medium £3 12s, 6d -to £3 15s ; porkers £2 15s to £3, slips 27s 6d to 355, wearers 12s to 17s 6d. Horses Heayy draughts £5O to £6O, medium £35 to £38 r spring cart Ports, £22 to £3O, harness horses £8 to £lO, hacks £8 to £ll.
