ANNUAL PICNIC.
AN ENJOYABLE OUTING.
The Netherton School held its annual picnic on Saturday la#t in Mr W. Morrison’s paddock. The weather was ideal and the attendance large. Luncheon and afternoon tea were provided, and .there was a lengthy progr, amme of sports events.. At lunch time every child on the school roll a,nd every child in .the district under five years of age was presented with a book and a packet of lollies. Addressing the assembly the chairman of the School Committee, Mi C> H. Potter, thanked the Netherton Tennis Club for having postponed its two matches on account of the picnic. He mentioned the fact that the committee had spent £4O on the picnic, wherea.s only £24 had been collected and it had been necessary to utilise the funds collected for .the previous year’s picnic, which was abandoned on account of .the epidemic.
