BUTTONS CHANGE HANDS.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY.
After withstanding several challenges the Veterans, comprising Olson, Forrest, Ellis, and Hamiltoin (skip), were compelled .to' lower their colours to the School Committee team, comprising Mettam, Pascoe, Power, and Purdie (skip), in the night play challenge buttons, competition at the local green on Monday night. The game was 20 heads, and the' young players had little difficulty in disposing of the veterans, who only scored on eight heads, while their opponents visited the board on twelve occasions. The final scores, read : School Committee, 23; Veterans, 13. Oil Saturday afternoon the local club, represented by six or seven rinks, will play an inter-club match with Hikutaia, at Hikutaja. Those wishing to participate in the match are requested to enter their names bn the match board at .the pavilion os’ early as possible.
