PLAINS CRICKET.

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The regular meeting of Jhe Haiiraki Pl,ains Cricket Association at Ngatea was presided over by Mr J‘G. Miller, .the following members attending : Messrs H. L. Berney, T. McKay, H. Dare, Boyd, J. Galvin, C. Stretton, and F. Wallace, secretary. The chairman explained that the meeting was. held at Ngatea so that the Kaihere delegates, could attend. It was significant that .the present was the biggest mustei 1 of, delegates this season. ■ REPRESENTATIVE 1 MATCHES. The secretary reported that nd. reply had been received from Pukekohe or Thames in reference to a representative match, and that the Paeroa club had replied stating that;. it did not have a date, available until March 28, unless, a Sunday match would be. acceptable.

It was decided to endea.vqur to arrange “A” and “B” grade matches against Thames at an early date, the matter being left ’ty) Mr Berney. In the event of this clashing with a club fixture the club matches would be deferred. In the event of the Thames marches being arranged, the "A” •teams will play at Kopuarahi and the "B” teams at Pipiroa. Messrs C. Lawrence and H. L. Berney were appointed the association umpires for .the season. The secretary was instructed to write to the Waihi an d Morrinsville clubs suggesting matches.

In regard to the Paeroa matph the opinion was expressed that cricket should not be played on a Sunday. When it was found that the date suggested was a Sunday it was decided to defer consideration of the match until a later date.’

The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr J. Gribble for the use of his room for the meeting.

Future meetings will be held at the same place.
