HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. reports as follows :
At the weekly stock market in the Frankton' yards on Tuesday we had a good entry of beef, prime cattle selling well up to late rates. Light prime steers realised, to £lO 15s; small £8 l'ss ; extra heavy prime cows £9 8s to. £lO 6s, Light prime £6 7s to £7 2s, medium quality £5 4s to £B 14s, unfinished £8 Us to £4 7s 6d; store cows £2 to £3 3s. An extra large entry of sheep was offered, and fate; sold well up to late rates. Good young breeding ewes were in demand, but older sheep were easier. Values reached in the lamb pens were barely up to those reported at other late sales*. Fat wethers, 4 and 6-tooth, brought to 30s, fat ewes £l, fat lambs 22s 6d, small 2tooth store wethers 21s ; 2-tooth ewes 24s to 26s 6d, good 4 and 5-year ewes to 255„ sound mouth ewes 19s to 20s, inferior 14s .to 17s; aged ewes 10s to 13s 6d, culls 6s 6d to 7s 6d; forward woolly lambis 16s 9d, medium woolly 13s 6d to 15s 3d; good shorn mixed sexes 14s, 6d to 15s 6d, medium Ils 7d to Ils lOd, small 10s .to 10s 3d. A full number of fat pigs were all cleared under the hammer at advanced rates, and competition was keen. Extra prime heavy baconers brought from £4 5s to £4 10s, heavy £3 17s to £4, lighter £3 10s to £3 15s; good porkers and light baconers £3 3s to £3 8s ; medium porkers £2 15s to £3, light £2 5s to £2 12»; slips ISss- to 245; weaners 9s to 16s.
