PAEROA FIRE BRIGADE.
DEMONSTRATION COMPETITION.
Idea) weather attended the successful running off of the .local Fire Brigade's competitions on, Saturday last. The firemen have for some time been paying into the fund for use as, nrisemonev, ancDMr F. E. Flatt, chairman of the’ Fire Council, donated, a gold medal to be competed for. Ex-fireman Willetts, of Thames, officiated. as ju<i.;<\ and ex-Fireinan H. Spinks,, of Paeroa, acted as timekeeper. The results were as' follows :— Gilberd Memorial One-man Coupling.—Lieut. E. Moore, 1 and gold medal. Time, Im 4 l-ssecs,. Fireman C. W. Malcolim, 2. Time, lm 13secs. Other times were: Fireman Martin, lm 20s\ecs; Fireman C. Nield, lm 26%secs ; Foreman Wilton, lm 27 3-5 slecs ; Fireman Robinson, lm 34secs ; Fireman Rolton, disqualified through slight mishap to gear. Two-men event (wet).— Capt. Moore and Fireman Robinson, 49secs ; Lieut. Moore and Foreman Wilton, 49secs ; Captain Moore and! Fireman C. Nield, 52 l-ssecs ; Fireman Rolton and Fireman Malcolm, ; . Fireman Martin and Fireman. Malcolm, 12secs. Disqualified through slight mishap at completion of record run; Lieut. Moore and Fireman Robinson, disqualified through mishap in fine running.
Three-men Event (wet). —Lieut. E. Moore, Foreman Wilton, Fireman C. Nield, 37secs, 1; .Firehan Malcolm, Martin, and Robinson, 44s.ecs ; Foreman Wilton, Firemen Robinson md Rolton, 45 l-ssecs ; Capt. Moore, Firemen Martin and C. Nield, 48secs.
