MAIL VAN THEFT.
TRACED TO TWO BOYS.
A YOUTHFUL ADVENTURE.
DUNEDIN, January 23.
Practically all. the mail matter, mostly parcels, that was stolen from the van at the railway yards, on Sunday, has been recovered by the police, and the rather sensational theft is traced to,the activities pf two boys, who are quite young, and will be charged before the Juvenile Court with theft.
The incident seems to> have been largely a youthful adventure. The police stated to-day .that some of the parcels were recovered near the yards when the offence was first reported. The Vest had been hidden at no great distance from the yards. Electric bulbs and fittings constituted the greater pa,rt-of the packages. There were also some empty money bags that were being forwarded for use at the Christchurch office. These were thrown around haphazardly.
