HOLIDAY EXCURSIONS.
LTo the Editor.!
Sir, —It seems strange that the Northern Steam, Ship Co. does net at times run excursions to Auckland when races or other attractions are the order of the day. Throughout the Chis, tmas holidays there wag, no .excursion at cheap rates, and here we a,re almost on to another holiday (Anniversary Day), and still no special trip. Although I do not presume to know, I cannot help thinking that if special trips at reduced fares were made on such occasions, as before mentioned it would be to tlie interest of the company, whereby, perhaps', bigger dividends- would be paid, the shareholders. That their boat would be well patronised goes without saying. Ilf something of the sort mentioned were adopted the difference between the river trip’ and the trains, would not bb so conspicuous. INTERESTED.
